A few changes

Quinton is doing so much better. He is responding very well to the breathing treatments and is eating and sleeping better. He improves every day now and is smiling and laughing lots too. He got an ear infection because of the runny nose and so we are waiting for that to clear up but all in all, we could not have asked for him to be on a better road to recovery.
I started back at work yesterday and it has been so hard to leave him while he's sick. Luckily, Randy was able to stay home with him.
Back to work for me. My hiatus from work has officially ended.
I've come a long way with work. At the ripe old age of 15, I wanted to work in the worst way.
I set out to be a working girl and I got my first job at Subway.
At the time, you got a free 6" with every 4 hour shift. With a perk like that, I considered myself living the high life.

It was such a treat, that I usually called home to see if anyone had some advice on what type of sandwich I should get. There were 6 kids in my family, so we never got to eat out and Subway was too expensive.
The big exception to eating out was Whopper Wednesday when the local Burger King sold the Whopper for .99¢
Mom bought us all the Whoppers we wanted, usually 2 or 3 each, but no fries. The fries weren't on sale. I asked every time for fries and never got any. The only reply was, "sorry honey, but you can have another whopper, (at which time someone in my over sized family would toss me another burger". To this day, I can't eat at Burger King and I usually eat my fries first when I eat at a burger joint.
You can imagine the excitement when I said I would share some of my Subway. I used it to my advantage whenever I could but it usually only worked with the younger kids. The older ones were working as well and nothing I had to offer ever did me any good in sibling negotiations.
However, Mom would usually let me stay out later if I said I would bring Subway home for the whole family. I was a working girl and what the heck, it was worth it.

That was back in the days when I had no paperwork. The only paper work I ever did at Subway was the loaf log. They had a real tight count on the loaves and you had to write down the reason for tossing any of it. I guess this cut down on stolen sandwiches. Some of the people I worked with were a little bit loco for the subs.

I'm no longer at Subway, there are no free sandwiches at where I work but the perks are even better: a 401K and health insurance for my family.

We are hoping that by summer I will be part time but until then, I'll just make the most of it. I really do like my job and I LOVE the people I work with, so that's gotta count for somethin'.

So glad that Quinton is doing better. I remember my first days back to work after having my kids and I do feel for you. All the best to you and your family.
