12 months

Happy Birthday Quinton!

You managed to navigate past your older brother well enough to make it thus far. Good Job. That was not an easy task as your brother likes to drag you up and down the stairs and tackle you over cheeze crackers.

I'm sorry you are the youngest but let me give you some words of advice....you are going to be bigger than your brother, so when all else fails, use your strength.

But let's talk about you.
One of the many things I love about you is your big, bright smile. Your top lip pokes out a little which lets your baby teeth have their moment of glory. I love it and feel compelled to kiss you right then and there.

When you walk, your cheeks shake. No really, they jiggle with every step. Need I say more?

You walk well but the slightest feather that crosses your path can throw you off your step. Most of the time you recover quickly but in the rare cases when you actually fall, you are back up and on the move in no time flat.

Since you're a dancing baby, it makes for an extra special treat. We never know when you're going to shake it, so people in the house come running top speed, leaping furniture and full flights of stairs when someone yells, "he's doing it, he's doing it!"
It's a full on booty shake; You bend your knees just a little and then shake your bum up and down. This coupled with your arms swinging from side to side is VERY entertaining. Oh, the absolute joy at watching 23 pounds shakin' it to the beat.

The past year hasn't come without it's fill of challenges. I think if you slept through the night, we would consider ourselves the proud parents of a genuinely perfect baby and could have made money showing you off at the circus.

Up until 10 months of age, you were still only sleeping for 3 or 4 hours at a time. I thought it might be easier to live in the dessert with no water and Milli Vanilli on repeat.

For the last couple weeks, you have started teasing us with 7 hours and then just when we consider ourselves home free and able to form rationale thought, you revert back to your newborn ways.
I have discovered that I can go to work, clean the house and still manage to take care of you and your brother on just 5 hours of sleep. Anything less and just call me Cruella.
Anything more and I might even throw in the park or an art project.

You love toothbrushes and cell phones. When I open the toothbrush drawer, I find cookie cutters and matchbox cars instead of the toothpaste.

I count my lucky stars as I have never wanted anything more than you and your brother.
When I'm with you, I feel like I'm home. You complete me.
Happy Birthday sweet baby boy! We love you.
