Oh Shoot.

Randy was laid off from his job...just in time for the holidays.
His company, MPI, laid off about half their employees as their product is tied to the Big 3 Auto groups. When Big 3 Auto asked Congress for money and were declined, the large investment group that supports my husband's company withdrew all their financial support.

With 2 children right before Christmas, and a husband with no job, I had a tiny panic attack.
To top it all off, his sweet collie, Sasha, got sick just a few days later and he had to have her put to sleep. None of this is good news.

However, Randy has been such a good example to me. He is working so hard to find another job and his attitude has been amazing. Whenever I start looking for a corner to crawl up in, he reminds me that he WILL find a job, a good job, and that we will be fine.
I know this past 2 weeks has been harder on him than me, but you would never know it.
It's times like these that I remember why I married him...he is my better half.

In the spirit of unemployment checks, let's talk about Christmas.
If you're 5 and tell me I look like a Princess, you have no worries.
If you're 1 and kiss like a sloppy frenchman, you also have no worries.

If you are anyone else, expect some sweet homemade gifts this year.
I was thinking for the men in my life:

And for those girlfriends who mean the most:

If you happen to know someone who is looking for a Quality Control guy in the software/computer industry, consider yourself lucky as I will knit you a car cover or crochet your next set of sofa pillows.
Happy Holidays!
