Boston wanted me to read him a book and brought me my "101 cookie recipe" cookbook from the kitchen. I can take a hint.
We busted out the metal cookie cutters and went to town.
His friend, Emma, was over and joined right in.
They had lots of fun but can I just say, they violated all the cookie making rules; Emma was in a sparkling red party dress with a big satin bow in the front that continually got stuck in the dough. They could only go about 5 seconds without eating it. If they did manage get a good cut out and then get it picked up, that was the one that got a bite out of it before going on the tray. Once we got the dough rolled out, they each felt compelled to dig thier fingers in it. For some odd reason, the dough they had out on the counter turned a darker brown that the dough left in the bowl. yikes. They loved overlaping cut outs on the dough we rolled out, so you never knew where the heart started and the star ended.
It was tough, but we did get lots of good cookies, much to Boston's delight. Christmas cookies will be a blast this year.
