Viva Las Vegas

Even though Randy and I would like to think we live on the wild side, we don't.
We thought because we are the only couple on the block to watch R movies, that we would fit right in to the wild life of Vegas nights.

I can't tell you how many times we looked at each other, raised our eyebrows and just smiled.

I'll leave the rest to your imagination but you might be interested to know that the Rio Hotel houses the Chippendale's Theater. Which really meant that a night of quality entertainment was only an elevator ride away.

Before you go getting any crazy ideas, abnormally buff men walking through the casino with concealer and baby powder rubbed on their waxed chest is just not my cup of tea.
I'm not exactly sure who would drink that cup of tea, except for maybe drunk and desperate gambling housewives. Then it's probably a good match.

Randy summed it up when he finally declared, "hey babe, we're not in Kansas anymore".

On a lighter note, we did venture downstairs to the pool. What we soon discovered was that the Rio pool has a few mandatory requirements: string bikinis for the girls. Hotness for the boys. Drinks in one hand and business cards in the other.

Randy has this pale butterfly skin that must be protected from the sun's damaging rays and so he was sure to take appropriate measures:

That book, incidentally, had Mad-Lib type jokes which kept us entertained for a significant amount of time.

After we had our fill of the pool, the highlight of the weekend was Mystere. We saw the late show on Saturday night and might I just add, it was worth every penny. Totally spectacular, we highly recommend it.

What great weekend. We got lots of sleep, went shopping, sat by the pool, thoroughly enjoyed Mystere.

I realized that we are still, after 9 years, cut from the same stone. We still have that necessary married couple chemistry. It's only when you add screaming kids, no sleep and a stack of bills on a dirty counter does that stone feel like it's been dropped on your foot.

Here's to 9 years with my very best friend. Thanks for a wonderful anniversary. I have and always will consider myself a lucky woman to have you. xoxo
